Why We Are Not French

Okay, so I finally got around to reading the Supreme Court decision that said that terrorists deserve trials and color television sets and afternoon massages and stuff.   And as you can imagine there were many ridiculous ideas in the opinion and plenty which would justify impeaching the five judges that voted against Bush in the case.   But one thing really irritated me and, as you might imagine, the judges hid it in a footnote:

The commentary’s assumption that the terms “properly constituted”and “regularly constituted” are interchangeable is beyond reproach; the French version of Article 66, which is equally authoritative, uses the term “régulièrement constitués” in place of “properly constituted.”

Now this alone proves that the liberal Supreme Court decision in this case is wrong.   Not only did these activist judges rely on foreign law, i.e., the Geneva Convention, but also they didn't even rely on the English version but on the French version.  This is completely unacceptable that our own Supreme Court should be harming the Global War on Terror by relying on a language that no American speaks.   And, of course, the mainstream media has completely ignored this outrage.
